We were proud to sponsor a spring trip for the Castle Cary Scout Group to Rémalard, France, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the twinning between the two towns. For many Scouts, this was their first experience abroad and the trip was extra special as these Scouts had missed a year and a half with the group due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
16 Scouts and 10 leaders stayed at the Forest View campsite playing games, exploring Margon Park and patrolling the local supermarché before travelling to Paris. Here, they reached the top of the Montparnasse Tower, enjoyed a cruise along the Seine and witnessed preparations for the Olympics.
The trip was a great success, and the Scouts enjoyed it immensely. We’re honoured to have played a part in making the journey possible.
