Day in the Life
Meet Paul Delany – Senior Operations Manager at MRC
My morning routine consists of operational updates – we have daily internal ops meetings and meetings with clients to evaluate project status. I’m also monitoring global projects for potential travel disruptions and resolving client escalations (should they arise).
Around midday, I liaise with suppliers and vendors to negotiate support, with finance to ensure billables are updated post-task, and review the team’s performance to ensure it meets our client’s objectives.
The rest of the day is focused on supporting ongoing projects and finishes with reports to senior leadership on operational performance. We also discuss and plan future initiatives.’
Paul’s favourite part about the job?
‘The variety. Some days are in the office, others deployed on the ground, anywhere around the world, as an Executive Protection Officer – when that’s the case the daily schedule is entirely different and depends on where we’re based. A bonus is the opportunity to meet with vendors and contractors in person, building on our relationships to assist with future projects. Overall the flexibility keeps the work dynamic!’
